GAME ON

‘Santorum Girls’ video going viral, old-school style

After meeting Rick Santorum a few days before Oklahoma's Super Tuesday primary, Tulsa resident David Harris had an idea: his musically inclined family should compose a campaign song for the candidate.
By Monday morning, the Harris family band—known as First Love—had written and recorded "Game On," an infectious, catchy two-and-a-half minute tribute to Santorum with lead vocals from Camille, 20, and Haley, 18. The Harris family shot a music video outside their church and debuted the song on YouTube.
The Harris parents are both pastors at the Jubilee Christian Center. They have eight children between the ages of 5 and 22, who have been homeschooled and enrolled at a religious academy. Like Rick Santorum, their political convictions are deeply influenced by their Christian faith.
Camille composed the beginning of the refrain ("we've finally got a man/who will stand for wrong and right") in the car after meeting Santorum, and the family pieced together the rest of the lyrics from campaign talking points. The result includes such lines as "there will be justice for the unborn / factories back on our shores."
The video now has 73,000 views, with the promise of many more as news organizations flock to the family. David Harris, speaking Thursday morning on the way home from a family appearance on the local Fox affiliate's morning show, told Yahoo News the Santorum campaign has contacted them about the possibility of performing live at future campaign events.
"We're waiting to hear from them," he said, noting the family already has a tour bus.
YouTube is only seven years old, but stars like the Harris family already seem like a throwback to the last campaign cycle. Five years ago, when the 2008 primaries were getting underway, many observers foresaw a "Web 2.0" election in which user-generated content drove powerful online organizing efforts. That election cycle produced such grassroots stars as Amber Lee Ettinger, better known as "Obama Girl," but they have largely been eclipsed by centralized social media efforts that are campaign-controlled.
The "Santorum Girls" video, however, has gone viral in the original meaning of the word: It started out small, with only 300-some views on Tuesday night (though YouTube lags somewhat in updating those figures). It had reached 7,000 by mid-day Wednesday, and 40,000 by Thursday morning—the sort of exponential growth that, if sustained, can project a video to astronomical numbers of views.
Like most newly minted Internet stars, both David and Camille expressed shock at the ruthless vitriol of the comments section. "What exactly are they hating?" David said of the video, which oozes with wholesomeness. While the band is fronted by Camille and Haley, most of the family appears in the video on one instrument or another, down to the youngest on the ukulele. "She only knows three notes, so she plays them over and over," Camille explained.
While on the phone, Camille realized it was her brother Wesley's 15th birthday.
"It's been a little overshadowed by this video," she said. "Love you, Wesley."

How To Live By The Power Of The Holy Spirit

John 14:26:
But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.
As Christians, we understand that salvation is not a matter of earning God's favor by our own effort. Rather it is transferring our trust from what we can do to get ourselves to heaven to what Jesus Christ has already done. Yet, the same Scripture that tells us that we are not savedby good works tells us that we are saved to do good works (Ephesians 2:8-10). To put it another way, the God who has saved us from thepenalty of sin now intends to change us--to remove the sinful habits and selfish attitudes in our lives so that we can become more like His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 8:28-29). To accomplish this goal, God has not left us alone to live the Christian life in our own strength. Actually that would be impossible. But God's power can do the impossible--that is, enable us to live the Christian life. The following study is designed to help you understand the work of God's Holy Spirit (the third member of the Godhead) and how you can cooperate with His daily work in your life.
What The Holy Spirit Does
He united you to Christ at the moment of conversion; He caused you to believe (2 Thessalonians 2:13). He placed you into Christ's body (1 Corinthians 12:13), and He is the bond that makes you belong to Jesus (Romans 8:9).
He assures you that you belong to God. He teaches you to call God,"Father" (Romans 8:15-16). He is God's seal of ownership and your guarantee of complete salvation (Ephesians 1:13-14).
He is making you to be more like Jesus Christ. By progressively freeing you from sinful habits and transforming you into the likeness of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:17-18). By empowering you to replace ungodly habits with godly fruit such as love, patience, and self-control (Galatians 5:18-23).
You can do what pleases God because His Spirit gives you power. He is your life and strength. That is why you must not ignore Him or try to live the Christian life without depending on Him. His work will not cease until it is completed at Christ's second coming when our bodies will be transformed to be like Christ's body (Philippians 3:20-21).
Because the Holy Spirit is at work in you, you need to understand...
How You Can Cooperate With His Daily Work In Your Life
Cooperating with the Holy Spirit means dependence on Him and His divine resources. We must keep in step with the Spirit (Galatians 5:25). Keeping in step with the Spirit sounds very mysterious. Actually it means that we submit to and rely on the Spirit. We look to Him for help--dailytrusting Him and praying to Him for understanding and strength (Ephesians 1:17-18). We must be filled with (or controlled by) the Spirit (Ephesians 5:18); being filled by the Spirit has the idea of control by(Note the contrast with drunkenness). It has the idea of being totally saturated with (Colossians 3:16).
To be filled with the Holy Spirit and to have Christ’s Word dwell in you mean the same thing. God’s Spirit always works in and through His Word.
Cooperating with the Holy Spirit means the disciplined use of His divine resources. Change occurs as you learn to put off the old ways of thinking and responding and put on God's new ways of thinking and responding. This begins by daily renewing your mind with the life-changing truth ofGod's Word (Ephesians 4:22-24; See verses 25-32 for some specific examples). As you learn to practice the truth, you gradually become more and more godly--like Jesus Christ (1 Timothy 4:7).

The word ”train” in 1 Timothy 4:7 is an athletic term. It means: daily sustained effort. Just as it takes practice to be skilled in a particular sport, so it takes practice to be skilled in living the Christian life. God does not expect you to beperfect; He expects you to be growing. Your part in growing is exerting daily sustained effort to apply His Word to your life.
Life Application
Read Ephesians 3:16-17. It is a model for how you should pray daily for yourself: Study God's Word. (See passages below). Depend on the Holy Spirit to help you obey, and begin to obey. This is what it means to be filled with the Spirit. His power will be displayed in your life as you trust Him and begin to obey His Word.
Study Ephesians 4:25-6:9. It is an extended discussion of how to put off old habits and replace them with godly habits in obedience to God's Spirit (Ephesians 5:18). Below are a list of put offs and put ons from this passage:

Oil is ‘the fuel of the past,’ says President Obama

Oil is ‘the fuel of the past,’ says President Obama

President Barack Obama on Wednesday dismissed oil as "the fuel of the past" as he made an unapologetic election-year pitch for his alternative energy industry policies and sniped at Republicans over painfully high gasoline prices.
"They get out on the campaign trail—and you and I both know there are no quick fixes to this problem—but listening to them, you'd think there were," he said at a Daimler Truck manufacturing plant in the battleground state of North Carolina.
Obama said that because the United States accounts for 20 percent of the world's consumption of oil but has only 2 percent of its petroleum reserves, "we're not going to be able to just drill our way out of the problem of high gas prices. Anybody who tells you otherwise either doesn't know what they're talking about or they aren't telling you the truth."
"Here is the truth. If we are going to control our energy future, then we've got to have an all-of-the-above strategy," he said in his speech. "We've got to develop every source of American energy—not just oil and gas, but wind power and solar power, nuclear power, biofuels."
A top congressional Republican, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, hit Obama on his call to end subsidies for oil companies while directing government help to so-called green energy firms, some of which have political ties to the administration.
"When it comes to rising gas prices, the American people don't think it's particularly fair that at a time when they're struggling to fill up the tank, their own tax dollars are being used to subsidize failing solar companies of the president's choosing, not to mention the bonuses that executives at these companies keep getting," McConnell said.
And "if higher gas prices hurt the economy, then why in the world is the administration calling for higher taxes on energy manufacturers?" said the Kentucky lawmaker.
Obama, his hopes for a new term threatened by high gas prices, pushed Republicans in Congress to support ending oil subsidies.
"We can place our bets on the fuel of the past, or we can place our bets on American know-how and American ingenuity and American workers like the ones here at Daimler. That's the choice we face.  That's what's at stake right now," said the president.
Obama also used the speech to roll out some new initiatives to promote the use of alternative fuels and electric-powered and other "advanced vehicles."

Obama pitches a movie to Hollywood

Harvey Weinstein passes on movie pitch from Obama

WASHINGTON, March 7 (TheWrap.com) - If you've ever had a pitch turned down by Harvey Weinstein, you're now in some fine company. The Weinstein Co. chief disclosed that President Obamarecently sent him a film idea -- which he passed on.
"The President sent me a book the other day and said 'Why don't you make this into a movie?'" Weinstein said. "I can't tell you. It was a spy novel."
But Weinstein demurred.
"I sent him an email back saying he was the most over qualified book scout I've ever had," he told the Times of London.
Weinstein is a deep-pocketed supporter of President Obama and the Democratic Party, and recently co-hosted fundraising events for the president in New York and Los Angeles.
The Weinstein Co. said it had no comment on the pitch.
As if getting a movie pitch from President Obama wasn't enough, Harvey Weinstein on Wednesday was made a member of the French Legion of Honor.
In ceremony held in Paris, French President Nicolas Sarkozy honored the 59-year-old producer of "The Artist" for his contribution to cinema by making him a member of the French Legion of Honor.
"I am honored and humbled by this recognition from President Sarkozy and the people of France. All my life, I have loved and been inspired by French cinema, and as a studio head it has been my pride and joy to have the ability to bring movies to audiences around the world," Weinstein said in a statement before the ceremony.
"I am still the young boy who walked to the cinema in Flushing, New York to see films by the greats - Lelouch, Godard, Renoir and my personal favorite, François Truffaut. They inspired me and led me to the place I am in today. I hope to continue my friendship with France and its filmmakers for many years to come."

Is this Obama's New America?

Do you want to pay for this? Do you approve of this? Is this the New America?

What's Gods stance on Abortion? [PDF] [DOC[Japanese] [French] [Indonesian]
From her book Heaven is so Real, Choo Thomas explains what she heard from Jesus Christ while in Heaven
After walking over
the beautiful golden bridge, the Lord led me to a place where babies and infants—many of whom looked as if they had just been born—were kept. It was a huge room, like a warehouse, and wasn’t fancy or pretty. It was filled with babies who were naked and lying close to one another.
“Why are there so many babies here?” I inquired.
These are babies of mothers who did not want them. I will keep their babies!” the Lord answered.
“What are you going to do with them, Lord?”
If their mothers are saved, they can have their babies back.
“What will happen if their mothers are not saved? What will you do then?”
Other mothers will have them when all My children come into the kingdom.
I then understood that these babies had been aborted from their mothers’ wombs, and I began to cry.Jesus shouted, “
I do not like abortion!” His voice and His demeanor grew harsh and angry, and I realized, then and there, that this was a message I would soon be sharing with all who would listen.
The Lord does not like abortion. It is one of the worst of all sins to Him. It was Jesus who had said, “
Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God” (Mark 10:14). Jesus loves little children, and I could see His tender compassion for these aborted babies as I watched Him and listened to Him.  (end book quote)

Abortion: It violates His Judgments,
and provokes His Wrath,
The Lord has given us warning after warning!

You must stand up for what is right,
 and oppose what is wrong!
Don't be silent! To the nations of the world: The blood of 100's of millions of babies cries out against you.  Their cries are heard by God; a god of Justice, Judgment & Divine Retribution.  He hears the cries of the afflicted and defends the oppressed.  He sees what we do in secret.  Turn and repent, before He repays us for what we have done.

Obama back together with Wall Street

Obama Seeks to Make Up with Wall Street and Its Money

President Obama and Wall Street have been going through a rough patch. Obama said some things that hurt Wall Street's feelings, then Wall Street started flirting with Republicans, but 2012 is on the horizon, and there's nothing like an external pressure to make a pair of lovebirds realize just how much they need each other again. Obama was in New York City Wednesday night for three back-to-back fundraisers, and he urged the finance crowd to help him get reelected so more people could live out the American Dream, just like they had.
Obama told the dinner party guests--who'd paid $35,800 to attend--that they were winners. "Everybody here almost by definition has lived out that American dream," he said, The New York TimesHelene Cooper reports. "The question is, will that same story be told by our children and grandchildren?" Obama's 2012 campaign aims to raise $1 billion for 2012, and if he wants to do that, he's going to have to make nice with the financial services industry, many members of which are annoyed by Democrats' populist rhetoric in the wake of the financial crisis. A widely-circulated hedge fund manager's email indicated his peers felt like battered wives. It read:
"I am sure, if we are really nice and stay quiet, everything will be alright and the president will become more centrist and that all his tough talk is just words... I mean, he really loves us and when he beats us, he doesn't mean it."
Despite the popularity of that dramatic email, Obama planned on pulling between $2 million and $3 million from Wednesday's three events. Business Insider's Katya Watchel noted that the first event of the night, hosted by former New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine, shows that "Actually, Some Wall Streeters Haven't Turned on Obama." Among the still-loyal in attendance, according toPolitico's Maggie Haberman: financier Bernard Schwartz, Kerry Kennedy, socialite Patricia Duff, Ned Lamont (who beat Joe Lieberman in the Connecticut Democratic primary for his Senate seat on 2006), MF Global president Bradley Abelow, and chair of Eastdil Secured Ben Lambert. CNBC's John Carney reported there were rumors that even JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon and Goldman Sachs head Lloyd Blankfein might show up. (It appears neither did.)
So have Obama and Wall Street really gotten back together? Politico's Ben Smith says the proof will be in the next couple quarterly fundraising reports from the Democratic National Committee.
